David Wright

Peach Pit Press is a collaborative project housed in Local Lore, spearheaded by southern Illinois-enthusiast and community librarian, Anna Petrelli. Peach Pit Press is working toward a small, independent media and zine community in Southern Illinois.
Launched this year, the pilot zine will be published in April 2024, thematically centered on the total solar eclipse on April 8th. Submissions were collected regionally and reflect the region’s cosmic alignment on the path of totality for the second time in seven years. Peach Pit Press publications will be available anywhere Local Lore is selling.

little scuzzy film fest

The Little Scuzzy Film Fest is a low to no budget film fest that emphasizes underground film. Deriving influence from the likes of John Waters, Troma, and every other freak who got access to a camera, The Little Scuzzy Film Fest showcases stories and styles that break the viewers expectations.

“In a larger city, it's like there's this stream of energy going, and all you have to do is jump into that stream and get wet. In the middle of the Midwest, you have to dig the fucking well” - Paul Mahern, Zero boys

Little Scuzzy Film Fest was born in the belly of the basement at The Swamp. A love letter to DIY, trash, experimental, and just plain weird shit. After a decade hiatus, Little Scuzzy crawled it's way out of the basements and into the pit by original organizer, Carson Cates with the help of Ellen Esling of the Peach Pit.
Submissions for the 2024 fest close June 30. Email littlescuzzyfilmfest@gmail.com to submit or stay in the loop.
